Diana studied Fine Art (Painting) at Portsmouth College of Art followed by Art Teacher Training at Birmingham School of Art Education. She graduated from Winchester School of Art with an MA in Textile & Fibre Art in 2008.
Originally trained in fine art, Diana’s interest in textiles developed during her teaching career. Her approach to her work is informed by traditional art training, particularly with regard to drawing, use of colour and the development of ideas, linked to an extensive knowledge and understanding of textile techniques and processes.
She uses digital print to convey her drawings, paintings and other source material into the realm of textiles – allowing them to be draped, folded, made transparent, layered and stitched. Fabric and thread allow her to explore themes and ideas within the broader context of narrative, time and place.
Diana exhibits her work locally and nationally, runs workshops and undertakes commissions.
